Although
we were smaller in number again this quiz; it was still exciting
with 13 teams and 57 quizzers.
I want to thank Parkersburg Broadway for hosting the quiz and
providing all of the food – from what I saw no one went hungry!
I think we could have eaten more if the “ICE STORM” had
not been anticipated. I
would also like to extend my personal thanks to all of those who
helped during the quiz – scorekeepers, quizmasters, and runners
alike – things would not go nearly as smoothly without you!
Our
scores are starting to spread out even more.
There are not as many averages of 80 or above. You are all still doing a great job – it’s just that
there is more material to cover now!
Keep up the studying. Right
now there are nine (9) quizzers in the running for Quizzer of the
Year.
If
anyone has pictures for the website be sure to let us know.
www.rvccnaz.com/quiz
is the address. We will
send out an email when the results are posted there.
I’ve
been thinking about some suggestions that have been made regarding
the District Teams. The
day of the finals I will give the top three team coaches an
opportunity to coach and if we don’t have a total of four (4)
coaches after that we will open it up to the other team staff.
This means that we won’t really know how many teams we will
have until the day of the final quiz.
I’d
also like you to be thinking about the final quiz in Morgantown.
We have had several combination teams and multiple teams from
churches through out the year. I’d like to meet with the coaches for a few minutes before
the Weirton Quiz to discuss whether to continue in that fashion for
the District Finals in March.
The
next quiz is February 14, 2004 at the Weirton Church of the
Nazarene. Remember to
study All of Hebrews, I Peter as well as II Peter for this quiz
meet. We will begin
registration at 9:30 AM. Quizzing
will begin at 10 AM. The
church will be running a food court for your convenience.
I’m
looking forward to seeing you all again and hearing your new
stories!
Love
in Christ,
Jael
